Is the Holden Trax big, or is it small?
Now that’s a real head-scratcher. The LTZ 1.4L iTi engine is small but has big turbo power.
And it gives you 6.9 litres per 100km – that’s small car economy. Reversing camera,
7 inch MyLink touchscreen with Apps, automatic headlights and 6 airbags – they’re big car
features. And the price, well, that’s defi nitely small. The only way to truly decide is to take
one for a test drive, so visit your Holden Dealer today. HOLDEN.CO.NZ
Offer ends June 30 2015. At participating Holden Dealers. Not available with any other offer.

New Hilux has pronounced fender flares for a muscular appearance.
The SR5 Limited will be the top model
in a 21-strong Hilux fleet.
The manual versions of the
SR5 and SR5 Limited will have an
‘‘intelligent’’ transmission which
is designed to avoid shift shock
and ensure smooth gear changes.
It also prevents the engine from
stalling in first gear when the
clutch is not engaged.
Three S grade 2WD models will
have a slightly de-tuned 126kW
version of this new engine, which
will be mated to a five-speed
manual. Meanwhile the petrol
models will continue to have the
same 4.0-litre GR FE that is under
the bonnet of the current Hilux. It
develops 175kW of power and
376Nm of torque.
All models will feature three
selectable drive modes as
standard, which will allow the
driver to choose between Power,
Eco and Normal modes.
This new Hilux is built on a
more robust ladder chassis that
has larger side rails and cross-
member sections as well as an
additional 120 weld points, and as
a consequence its braked tow
rating rises to between 2500kg and
3500kg depending on the model.
The current model’s rating is
between 2250kg and 2800kg.
Payload has also been increased
by 11 per cent, and the wellside
deck looks to be easily wide and
long enough to accommodate a
one metre-wide pallet.
Every Hilux will come with a
comprehensive safety package
which will include seven airbags,
emergency stop signal, trailer
sway control, stability control,
and hill-start assist. Not only that,
but all models fitted with a
wellside will also have a reversing
camera as standard.
Standard features on the S
models will include 16-inch steel
wheels and a four speaker stereo,
while the SR will have 17-inch
steel wheels with all-terrain tyres
and a six-speaker stereo. Both of
these models will be designed to
meet the needs of buyers who
want a ‘‘work’’ truck, says Toyota.
Other standard features will
include cruise control, and a
Bluetooth hands-free phone and
The SR5 model will have
17-inch alloys, privacy glass,
satellite navigation, LED
headlights, smart key remote
central locking, and climate
control air conditioning, The
Limited will add 18-inch alloys,
leather seats, and a power
adjustable driver’s seat.
Full technical details and
equipment specification, together
with pricing, are due at the Hilux
launch in the fourth quarter.
